Superintendent

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct all aspects of construction project including subcontractors and self-performed work
  • Lead daily huddles and toolbox talks working with crew to set goals and mitigate safety risks; motivate team
  • Plan and schedule activities for each phase of the project
  • Coordinate with Project Manager on material requirements, subcontractor scheduling, and any issues that arise; Work directly with subcontractors and vendors as directed by Project Manager
  • Confirm quality, service, and deliverability is met based on the contract, scope of work, and WES policies
  • Monitor and measure the job status daily and weekly in order to confirm the project is on schedule and on budget including completion of short interval planning
  • Prepare accurate, detailed, written daily reports including field productivity
  • Evaluate workload of crew members, consistently delegating responsibilities and raising to Project Manager when manpower should be increased or decreased
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
  • Participate in Pre-Construction and Project Close Out activities
  • Train and coach assistant superintendents and field engineers on the superintendent track
Qualifications
  • Strong, proven background in all facets of building and/or site construction work
  • Minimum of 10 years experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience supervising multiple subcontractors and crews
  • Ability to visualize the final result of a project
  • Ability to enforce the use of efficient methods to improve safety and productivity
  • Goal-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • OSHA Safety Course Certification
